SONICWALL LAUNCHES TWO NEW WIRELESS DEVICES - SonicPoint-Ni and SonicPoint-Ne
SonicPoint-Ni and SonicPoint-Ne are the latest additions to the SonicWALL SonicPoint wireless family.
The demands on an organizations’ wireless network, more connections, increased bandwidth consumption, seamless roaming, extended perimeters, tax the performance and complicate the management of existing 802.11 wireless networks. The challenge faced by many businesses is to preserve compatibility with legacy 802.11 technologies, while still seeking to optimize their wireless network through centralized management and control across all nodes of the WLAN, and do all this while maintaining security.
SonicPoint-Ni Dual-Band and SonicPoint-Ne Dual-Band are are new High-performance secure wireless networking solutions offered by sonicwall. These new devices provide the following features and capabilities:
• 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) 3x3 MIMO single radio subsystems on board
• One 10/100/1000 Base-T RJ-45 interface and one RJ-45 console port
• 16 MB Flash, 64 MB DDR2 RAM
• 802.3af compliant Power Over Ethernet (PoE)
• Ceiling or wall mountable
• Dimmable LEDs and covers that can completely obscure logos and lights for environments that need discreet wireless coverage
• SonicPoint-Ne has 3 SMA connectors (coaxial RF connectors) for external antennas, and can use a power adaptor or PoE injector
• SonicPoint-Ni has 3 internal antennas, and is powered by PoE injector only
They are available as single units bundled with a PoE injector or in 4 or 8 packs without PoE injectors.
SonicPoint-Ni and SonicPoint-Ne should be in stock and ready to ship by the end of this month (Aug 2010).
