The critical findings have been updated in the 2022 SonicWall Cyber Threat Report, giving businesses of all sizes the intelligence to make informed decisions on the security of their networks.
The highlights ...
- Malware and ransomware rose significantly across Europe with year-on-year increases of 29% and 63% respectively. Seven of the top 11 countries targeted by ransomware are the UK, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Ukraine
- Never-seen-before malware variants increased by 45% over the first half of 2022 with an average of 1,501 new variants per day
- IOT Malware attack volumes grew by 77% to 57 million, with a UK spike of 134%
- Encrypted threats jumped by 132%
