Bad Rabbit Running Wild

This week a new strand of ransomware named Bad Rabbit appeared in Russia and Ukraine, and has found its way into Western Europe and the United States. 

Disguised as a download for a Flash Player update, Bad Rabbit tries to propagate itself via SMB but does not seem to use any exploits. This threat requires explicit action from the user in order to proceed.   

No threat to SonicWall clients

SonicWall's Capture Labs Threat Research Team has already rolled out signatures and customers are protected from the malicious downloads.
