WannaCry and Petya have left IT experts shaken with over 300,000 users compromised and with over 4000 ransomware attacks occurring every day making recovery difficult. Many of the businesses affected will never get their data returned and have lost tens of millions of pounds in revenue.

However, according to an article published by SonicWall, they explain how their Capture solution protected against the recent attacks and has processed over 60 million unique pieces of malware. These included versions of polymorphic malware, newly developed malicious codes and zero-day attacks.
