Fortinet Release Q2 Report

Fortinet recently issued its Q2 Threat Landscape Report, their FortiGuard Labs review and report annually on billions of global threat events and incidents.

The rise and rise of encrypted traffic
The report highlights a record high for encrypted traffic:  57% of all web traffic is now encryted, a 6% increase in just 12 weeks.

Encryption protocols such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) are now being used to conceal attacks that legacy devices and appliances without DPI-SSL enabled cannot detect.  Skillful criminals can exploit vulnerabilities, push malware downloads and steal data.
