Important Technical Advisory - DO NOT UPGRADE TO SONICOS 7.0.1 - 5018 Fireware

We are currently advising our SonicWall customers with Gen7 Appliances NOT to upgrade to 7.0.1-5018 firmware, particularly if you have the logging set to use the Secondary Storage Module.
 
If your Gen7 appliance is set to save the logging to the Secondary storage module and the appliance is upgraded to 7.0.1-5018, or the function it is enabled after the upgrade, your appliance will crash and reboot randomly.

Appliances in High Availability configuration will not failover to the backup appliance and will require a physical reboot of both appliances (once rebooted they will require an admin to login and disable the secondary storage for logging to be disabled on both appliances).
 
We are working closely with SonicWall as they are aware of this issue to get a hotfix released as soon as possible. If customers are facing other issues resolved by the release please do give us a call on 0121 270 1800 to discuss before applying the upgraded firmware.
