SonicWall has introduced a range of new enhancements to Cloud Secure Edge (CSE), designed to simplify secure access, strengthen Zero Trust security and improve visibility for IT teams. These updates help organisations modernise access while reducing complexity and deployment time.

A key addition is the new Cloud Secure Edge Support Hub, which provides a single, central location for product documentation, release notes, troubleshooting guidance and knowledge base articles. This makes it easier for customers and partners to find answers quickly and stay up to date as the platform continues to evolve.

Identity integration has been significantly expanded. Cloud Secure Edge now supports direct authentication with on-premises Active Directory, allowing organisations to extend Zero Trust access without modifying their existing identity infrastructure. In addition, auto-configuration for Microsoft Entra ID simplifies setup, reducing manual steps and configuration errors while speeding up user and group onboarding.

Security has also been enhanced with built-in two-factor authentication (2FA), removing the need for third-party MFA solutions while delivering a smooth user experience. A new device geolocation trust factor adds contextual intelligence to access policies, enabling more granular Zero Trust decisions based on a device’s physical location.

To improve visibility and compliance, Cloud Secure Edge now offers enhanced SIA access logging, with logs retained for up to 12 months. This supports auditing, investigations and long-term activity analysis. Administrators also gain greater control with explicit URL blocking, while a new Generative AI category within Internet Threat Protection allows organisations to easily restrict access to AI and machine learning websites to help reduce data exposure and acceptable-use risks.

Additional updates include Windows on ARM support and a Guided Setup Wizard, enabling organisations to deploy Cloud Secure Edge in minutes rather than days.
